In Carroll County, Taneytown Police Chief Jason Etzler, who has been with the department for two decades, is on temporary leave from the agency for undisclosed reasons.

He has been the chief since 2019 when he took over for another embattled chief who resigned after admitting to a weapons charge, according to WBAL.

City Manager James Wieprecht announced the decision to place Etzler on administrative leave this week, but failed to provide details about why.
